Availability & Booking Details

The Club is usually available for hire for 5 days from Monday to Friday during the summer, and 7 days during the winter, subject to specific negotiation with the Club’s management:

Hire dates are limited by the Club’s sailing program. All Saturdays and Sundays from mid-September up to Easter are reserved for sailing and racing activity.

 

Please Be Aware: No candles in the boat shed, no open candles in the function room and NO SPARKLERS ANYWHERE.

Our Venue

Vaucluse Yacht Club Functions & Events - Celebrate that special event on the most beautiful harbour in the world!

The Vaucluse Yacht Club is available for functions such as weddings, birthday parties, corporate functions and similar events.

The Club is situated on the Eastern Shore of Watsons Bay and faces west. It offers wonderful views across Sydney Harbour to the skyline of the city. It is a most fantastic sight to watch the sun set behind the city, while the skyline lights up, with the lapping of water beneath your feet.

The clubroom is a single large room of 144m² with a verandah of 36m², plus an outside deck area. The area is a completely open plan space, with modern kitchen & bar facilities. 


It contains a commercial refrigerator, oven and cook top and provides ample counter space for the preparation and serving of food and drinks. BBQs are available for use on the verandah. Bar tables and chairs are available and are included at no additional expense. Full separate male and female toilets are located in the boat storage area adjacent to the clubroom.

 

The Club has easy wheelchair access and no steps.

Restricted Areas

Access is prohibited to the dinghy racks and other storage areas in the boat storage area other than as necessary to transit to and from the club house area.

 

Security & Cleaning

The hirer is responsible for the security of all the club's property, dinghies and boats stored on the club premises at all times during the hire. The hirer should make proper arrangements to ensure that no damage occurs.

 

The hirer will be responsible for the collection of all bottles, cans, food scraps and other rubbish. These items should be left in the bins located just inside the boat shed door for collection by the Council. Entry to the Club is via the doors on Marine Parade and then through the boat storage area to the clubhouse.

 

The club is adjacent to residential areas and all hirers are requested to ensure that noise is kept to a minimum when entering and especially when leaving the premises.

 

Rates


The cost of hire for the Club is a very reasonable rate per afternoon or evening.

 

To secure a function, a deposit is required.

 

The remaining club hire charge & Security Bond is required not less than 30 days prior to the function.

 

In the event of any damage to the premises or other property of the club or its members arising from the hire, funds will be withheld from this Security Bond to rectify the damage. The Security Bond will be returned to the hirer as soon as is practicable.

Catering & Entertainment

The club does not offer catering. Hirers will need to make separate arrangements for food and drink. Hirers may provide music or other entertainment during their function, however the club is located in a residential area where noise can be a problem. Accordingly any entertainment cannot be overly loud.

 

The hirer will be required to supply their own catering, decorations, glasses, crockery, cutlery etc. The hirer will also be required to leave the club in a clean and tidy condition.

Hirers will also be given access to the premises to set up for the function and may use any decorations they wish. Hirers will be fully responsible for removing all additional equipment and decorations at the conclusion of the hire. The cost of hire includes a pre-clean and post clean of the Club room and floor area.
