5.5 METRE RESULTS.
In the two-day regatta that finished on Sat 1 May, VYC entries featured prominently in the results. In six races held over two weekends with fickle winds mainly from the west, the entrants had to contend with all the usual Harbour traffic, 20 to 30 degree wind shifts, and choppy conditions stirred up by pleasure boats and the larger than average spectator fleet.

The VYC was represented by Baragoola, Antares, Yeoman IV, Jabiru and Kings Cross. The last mentioned being Mark Lutowski's recent purchase.

Results for the two divisions:
EVOLUTION DIVISION:
Scratch:- Skagerak (G.lngate) 1st ; Antares (M.Polkinghorn) 2nd; Rhapsody (C. Ryan) 3rd.

CLASSIC DIVISION:
Scratch:- Barragoola (D.DeCoster) 1st ; Pam (D. McDonald) 2nd ; Jabiru (H. Ferrar) 3rd.
Handicap:- Kings Cross (M.Lutoski) 1st tied with Yeoman IV (R. DeCoster).

Keep your eyes open for more boats in the club's 5.5 fleet!

REMINDER OF IMPORTANT DATES

WORKING BEE. 15th MAY. Painting of Men's and Ladies change rooms and the repair of the front wall are the major points of focus. A variety of smaller tasks will be available on the day, I'm sure.

PRIZE NIGHT. 22nd MAY. See the newsletter for details. Leave it too late and you'll miss out.

A.G.M. 28thJUNE. The date for re-election or replacement of your Committee and Office Bearers. We all like the prize night, but the A.G.M. decides the functioning nucleus. If you don't turn up you may find you've been appointed anyway! Attendance assures that you get the job that you want!

WINTER RACES. The last Saturday of the winter months, 1.00 p.m. start. We need more entrants.
Stop Mio Dio from gloating like he did last weekend when everyone else forgot. Bring the family etc.
Winter Saturdays are always pleasant. Enjoy a BBQ. afterwards. See you there.
