Vaucluse Yacht Club Event HireVaucluse Yacht Club's premises are available for functions such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, corporate functions and similar events. The club is situated on the Eastern Shore of Watsons Bay and faces west. It offers wonderful views across Sydney Harbour to the skyline of the city.

To be on the club verandah in the late afternoon, with the water of the bay lapping beneath your feet, and watching the sun set behind the city and the skyline light up as night falls, is to be in the perfect location to celebrate that special event.

The clubroom is a single large room of approximately 14 square metres with a verandah of approximately 6 square metres. The area is completely open with no supporting pillars intruding. In the back corner of the room is a kitchen/bar facility that has just been completely renovated.

It contains a new commercial refrigerator, oven and cook top and provides ample counter space for the preparation and serving of food and drink. Tables and chairs for up to 70 people are included at no additional expense. Full separate male and female toilets are located in the boat storage area adjacent to the clubroom.

Catering & Entertainment

The club does not offer catering facilities, hirers will need to make separate arrangements for food and drink. Hirers may provide music or other entertainment during their function. However the club is located in a residential area where noise can be a problem.

Accordingly any entertainment cannot be overly loud. Hirers may bring extra tables and chairs into the clubhouse along with glassware, crockery, cutlery and the like.

Hirers will also be given access to the premises to set up for the function and may put up any decorations they wish. Hirers will be fully responsible for removing all additional equipment and decorations at the conclusion of the hire.

Restricted Areas

There is an open boat rigging deck and launching ramp adjacent to the verandah. For safety reasons this area is out of bounds to hirers. Access is also prohibited to the dinghy racks and other storage areas in the boat storage area other than as necessary to transit to and from the club house area.

Security & Cleaning

The hirer is responsible for the security of the club's property and dinghies stored on the club premises at all times during the hire. The hirer should make proper arrangements to ensure that no damage occurs.

The hirer will be responsible for the collection of all bottles, cans food scraps and other rubbish. These items should be left in bins located just inside the boat shed door for collection by the council. Entry to the clubhouse is via the doors in Marine Parade and then through the boat storage area to the clubhouse. 

The club is adjacent to residential areas and all hirers are requested to ensure that noise is kept to a minimum when entering and, more particularly, when leaving the premises.

Rates

The cost of hire is $1,500 per afternoon or evening. Reduced rates apply for club members.  In addition, a security deposit of $500 will be required.

To secure a function 50% deposit is required being $750. The remaining club hire charge of $750 & security bond of $500 is required not less than 10 days prior to the function.

In the event of any damage to the premises or other property of the club or its members arising from the hire, funds will be withheld from this deposit to rectify that damage. Otherwise the deposit will returned to the hirer at the conclusion of the hire.
